
Biometric systems promise a body that can be read once and recognized forever. My recent paintings start from that promise and watch it fail.
I project scanned fingerprints onto canvas, then paint over them by hand until the ridge pattern is barely legible. What remains is not data but a trace of attention.
The series continues the questions of Parallel Actions and Acute Angle: who owns the image of a body, and what is lost when identity becomes a template.
